We were called to this home of Jane and John Doe because of the strange activity they were experiencing.
The house is 6 years old.
According to a farmer who lives in the area and whom they have talked to, there was a house that used to stand where their home is now built. He said their house looks almost identical to the one that was there previously. They had no knowledge about the previous house when they built theirs, so the similarity is coincidence.
The farmer said the house caught fire and burned to the ground. He believed there were three people in the home who perished. A man, woman, and child.
There is also a cemetery in the front of their house. It’s approximately 200 feet away from the front door. When you pull into their driveway you have to drive by it. Mr. Doe states he does not like this cemetery and avoids it at all costs. One time when he was taking the trash down to the end of the drive, he looked over into the cemetery and saw what looked like a figure with wings sitting on one of the large stones. He also believes he has seen a stone move. He refuses to go into the cemetery. When taking the trash down the driveway to the road he only looks straight ahead of him.
When the house was being built and the wires for the electricity had been run a friend told them that they had noticed all the lights on in the house one evening. This was puzzling because even though the wiring had been run throughout the house no light fixtures had been hooked up yet. The wires were sticking out of the receptacles.
After moving in they noticed the TV’s would turn on and off. The water also turned on and off in a bathroom. Jane was lying on the couch in the family room and noticed the blanket she had thrown over her was slowly being pulled down off her. At that point, she felt a tingling in her legs and witnessed the cushion her legs were on drop in the center as if someone just sat down.
Different people in the house have witnessed apparitions of a man and woman.
The sounds of their dining room chairs being dragged about have been heard. On one occasion Jane got up to see what was going on and she found three of her dining room chairs all lined up on one side of the table. They had all been pushed in under the table.
Cabinet doors in the kitchen have opened and closed.
They have seen balls of light.
A friend of the brother-in-law’s heard a man’s voice say, “Get Out”.
Knocking on doors and walls have been heard.
Jane has heard someone call her name.
One time while Jane's father was in the bathroom upstairs he heard what sounded like someone lifting the bath mat off the bottom of the tub. It had that releasing sound that mats with suction cups have. The only problem with this is this particular mat did not have suction cups.
Hair has been pulled.
Bells have been heard.
Their cats seem to watch things no one else sees.
They had a child’s rocker in their little girl’s room. It would rock by itself. They removed it and put it in the basement.
John witnessed a makeup bench move in their bedroom. He saw a woman with a cape on pulling it across the floor at the foot of his bed. He thought it was his wife until she disappeared. The bench stayed there. This bench is no longer in the house.
An antique rocker in the master bedroom has been seen to rock on its own.
Jane saw a very tall man with very wide shoulders in one of the bedrooms upstairs.
One of the children saw a man come out of her closet and turn and go back in.
Pictures and clocks have fallen off the walls.
French doors that lead to the balcony off the master bedroom have locked and unlocked on their own. Witnesses have actually watched the locks turn.
Jewelry has disappeared only to re-appear in a different area on a different day. Some jewelry has still not been found.
Jane has heard a woman whisper in her ear as she sat on the couch in the family room. At that time she experienced tingling in her legs.
Sounds of heavy objects being dropped upstairs have been heard.
The garage door has opened and closed on its own.
A dog that has since passed on was kept in the basement in a kennel cage when they were not home. The cage has a slide lock on it. Upon returning home they would find their dog running about freely in the house and the door to the cage open. Jane has stated since the dog has passed she has felt it’s presence and heard it whimper.
One time while Jane was in the family room she heard loud growling sounds coming from the 2 yr. old’s bedroom. The 2 yr. old started screaming. Jane was frozen and could not move. When the growling stopped she was able to go up to check on the child. Everything seemed normal.
These are just a few of the things that have happened in the house in the past. While we were there interviewing them their baby was sleeping in the dining room in a play pen. The child started crying. Just as she was calming down a strange noise was heard. Upon investigation, we found out the computer in the room had turned on by itself. They had not been using this computer because it needed repaired.
This information relates to the new residence the family has moved into.
Happenings at the house:
This house is 25-30 years old. There are 4 floors altogether. The present owners are the 3rd owners. There is a lake close by with timber on three sides of the house. The water source is a well. Unexplained activity in the house happens day or night.
