This investigation was interesting because it was in an old hotel dating back to 1869 on the square in Carlinville. The main floor of the hotel is now a computer shop in a portion of it, the other part houses a beauty shop and an unoccupied pharmacy.

The huge basement is used mainly as an office and storage space for the attached tavern, which is still in operation.

The second floor is finished and is now mostly used for storage, but was used in the recent past as meeting quarters for local organizations. It has some neat décor and some wonderful old furniture in it.

The third and fourth floors of the building are where the majority of the old hotel rooms are located. These two floors are in a great state of disrepair. The floors were covered in dust from the dilapidated walls and ceilings, and occasionally a dead pigeon or bat, which had found it's way in only to get trapped and eventually die there.

These two top floors are where I believe the majority of spirit activity takes place, although there is, without a doubt, probably activity in other parts of this large building as well.

The basement is also a place where you can easily get the "willies", and I had a few strange feelings down there which hurried me along a time or two while exploring there.

The third and fourth floors are where I felt and/or picked up most of the signals to lead belief that there is spirit activity via odd feelings of cold, and being watched, and occasionally an almost electric tingly feeling that radiated down my spine.

In particular, a room on the far Southwest corner of the third floor which I just didn't want to go into at all because of bad feelings there, and on the fourth floor, the strongest feelings on the far Northwest two rooms. These two rooms really gave me the "heebie jeebies"! In one of these rooms on the fourth floor I took a photo with a bright global appearing in it.

I photographed a lot of what looked like globals throughout the top floors, but I feel were for the most part probably dust that we kicked up from walking around. It was a great investigation, and I'm happy that I was able to take part in it!
